Notes 0008

By Alex on September 25, 2021

Rough notes from the OhhShiny Show twitter space (these are being posted with some delay; unsure of when these were taken, but the information is still relevant as of the post date, even if not timely).

  • Dave Krugman drop, sold out!
    • Car photos for ten years
    • Cars very collectible
    • Stressful when floor goes up and friends and family didn’t in. Largely euphoric.
    • Cars are a primitive for larger project
    • An entirely world can be build from early primitives, like Loot
  • Shiny: blockchain making people loosen their grip on traditional way of thinking about building companies
  • Farokh: what if you can apply the fact that people are spending so much time in the space
    • Rug Radio can incubate projects. Why take on people from the outside when there are so many people here in the community already?
  • IzzyPollak, Genies
    • Avatars can help orientate people according to mood, plans, etc.
    • Want to involve people who want to build the metaverse
  • Shiny: why buy a pfp if you’re not willing to use as a digital face & identity?
  • 0x_b1
    • People have been more receptive
    • Makes him feel more connected to community
  • Lee
    • Going to use avatar as brand, for music, etc
  • John Knopf
    • Cat is me
    • Grails are pfps that are “me”
  • Farokh
    • “I’m a man of many avatars”
    • “If I feel a certain way I’ll change it”

“This is our metaverse for now”

If you aren’t willing to become your pfp collectible, it’s probably not a good purchase.

  • Izzy/Shiny
    • Maybe your avatar is something you want to resonate with.
    • If something can change how you feel, if you can embody it, that’s one of the great works of art in your life.
  • Izzy
    • You can learn to change and reprogram the way you show up
    • How do I channel and decide mindfully how I want to show up, and how can I use my avatar to do this?
  • Daramola
    • Thinks about whether he can put art in his home, but if it would add the right energy
  • Ronen
    • Talks about avatar projects as clothing. Like universe lambos.
    • “If you can put it on you can pull it off”
    • If you try out art, see how it makes you feel. Does an avatar let out parts of your personality?
  • Shiny
    • Avatars not about being pseudonymous, it’s about expression.
    • People can wake up and say I feel like this, that person, that being today.
  • Ronen
    • “I contain multitudes”
    • Avatars can let parts of us shine and grow.
  • MIKASHU02
    • In theater would do exercises with masks, see how they would affect behavior, body language
    • Profile picture can be like your mask
    • Can be used for positivity
  • Shiny
    • If you don’t have a pfp it doesn’t mean you aren’t a part of the community
    • NFTs create a social web we can move with and within
    • Pfps are secondary to this
    • What’s the community you surround with? Hopefully the community enables you to have pfps

There is no Facebook, Microsoft, etc "metaverse"

The metaverse is created by no single company and MUST use decentralized technologies

We cannot create a virtual environment where we rely on "dOnT bE eViL"

We HAVE to use blockchain tech so the motto changes to "Cant be evil"
